US Senate Staffer and Board Member to Keynote ECC’s Scholarship Convocation

The 91Ó£ÌÒÊÓÆµ Foundation will host a Scholarship Convocation Friday, Sept. 19 on the Tarboro campus. During the invitation-only event, 140 scholarships will be awarded to students for the 2025-2026 academic year. The donors who have contributed to further the education of these students will also be recognized.

Presented by Astemo, this year’s Scholarship Convocation will include a message of tenacity, hope, achievement and giving back to this community by Trey Lewis. Lewis was appointed to the ECC Board of Trustees August 2024. He is currently a US Senate staffer for Senator Thom Tillis. The 33-year-old graduated from ECC with an Associate of Arts degree, and later obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in political science and a Master of Public Administration degree from East Carolina University. Lewis also served as the mayor of Macclesfield from December 2015 to May 2018.
